PRESS RELEASE:September 15, 2005
For immediate Release:
"NATIONAL PRAYER SONG SPARKING GOODWILL AND ACTION FROM KIDS AND COMMUNITIES ACROSS AMERICA"
15 Year Old Hilton Head, S.C. resident Josh Carter, a singer/songwriter who penned and recorded "National Prayer", along with his twin brother Zach, also a singer/songwriter and keyboard player, are making a huge impact and getting their word of hope and help for Hurricane Katrina victims out to school children across America. Their message is one of goodwill for the families devastated by the forces of Hurricane Katrina. The song "National Prayer" was recorded this past Saturday, and by Monday, Josh and Zach were interviewed on major radio and television. The song has already seen airplay in the Hilton Head radio market and Josh and Zach have appeared on television. The goal Josh has set is to raise $500,000 by getting kids across America to give $1 each. "It's not unreasonable that we can achieve this goal. We already have donations coming in from as far away as Nebraska." Josh and his brother set up www.TeensHelpingKids.com where his song can be heard and anyone making a donation of $10 or more will automatically receive a copy of the CD. Anyone can make donations to The Red Cross through his site. 100% of donations go straight to The Red Cross. "I was also contacted by a corporation who wants to set up a matching fund for any kids who contribute, so I guess I should raise my goal to 1 Million Dollars," Josh said. "Another corporation contacted me and they want to give $15,000 to The Red Cross. And kids are really coming to the plate on helping those families who really need a helping hand. I can't believe that on Saturday morning I had an idea and by Monday, I was able to get my message out on the radio and on TV. I want to thank those gracious people who are giving me the opportunity to get the word out. I cannot imagine how terrible it would be to lose a family member in a tragedy like this. Especially a child. So I want kids from my generation to step up and help these families as much as they can."
